Bamberg

Green Oasis and World Heritage

bamberg_1.jpg

Bamberg is primarily known for its historical heritage created in stone: one of the largest, completely intact old towns in all of Europe and more than 1500 individual statues. But the city is also home to numerous green oases and beautiful parks.

The “Bamberg Hain” is one of the oldest citizen parks constructed in the English style in the 19th century. The park remains a favorite among locals for recreation and relaxation. 4500 elegant rose bushes create a romantic atmosphere in the “Rosengarten” at the New Residence and the Michaelisberg Monastery impresses with baroque-style gardens and a vineyard on the hillsides overlooking the city. Since 2012, when Bamberg hosted the state garden show, you can stroll along the riverbanks and through the ERBA-Park enjoying the greenery. Outside of town, the Seehof Castle is worth.
