The Jewish Museum Franconia in Fürth explores Jewish heritage in Franconia: home and exile, traditions and assimilation, annihilation and new beginnings. The elaborate exhibits include a historical tabernacle and mikveh ritual pool, and they give a realistic impression of what Jewish life used to be like in those days. Also, you can visit the old Jewish cemetery (1607-1936) with a guided tour. Other guided tours have as their themes Jewish foundations or famous Jewish citizens of the city. A cultural highlight is the biannual “International Klezmer Festival” in March that takes turns with the smaller “Klezmer Intermezzo.”
